Is the brain able to inhibit dopamine reuptake by itself?

Not sure exactly what you are after here. DA uptake is a normal feature of a dopaminergic neuron, but that neuron does have the ability to regulate the reuptake. It can increase it or decrease it by changing the structure of the dopamine transporter protein, so I guess you could say that the brain can inhibit the reuptake by itself.
