How to handle spiteful parents, inlaws to be?

Back in April, my fiance still lived at home, and it seemed like from no where they told him he HAD to stop dating me. He was 20 at the time, soon to be 21. We have been together for two years now. We were talking about marriage at the time, but technically were not engaged yet. Well, it turned into a big fiasco and they even tried to pull our church minister into everything as well! His parents blatently lied to our faces telling us no one in the church supported us and no one in the family supported us and they would ALL disown us if we continued dating. Terms were, we had to stop dating for three months so we could get our heads on straight, no talking, no seeing each other, no texting, anything. They even told me I had to move to a different church! It was horrible, he was scared to loose his dad, but he didn't want to loose me either, said that if it came down to it, he would leave everything else behind. Well, we agreed i would move churches and not technically to see each other
