If I get off my lease early, does that forfeit my deposit money?

Me, my bf and his friend rented a place that started last April 2007 and the lease is up July 31 2008. rent is 645/month so at the begining we also paid an additional 215 /each for deposit. I am looking to move out and want to sooner than july 31. my bf and his friend are probably going to renew the lease and either split it or get a new roomie. if i vouch to get off the lease ,that is after talking to landlord etc, does that mean i lose my deposit money? i read the lease and did not see anything that said anything about this but my rooomie said when he was thinking about moving out, he talked to her and she said something like that. does the landlords words make it true or by law, does it have to be in the lease?? i live in minnesota. i havent talked to her yet but just want some feedback if she tries to say that if its not true. please help!! if it is true then should i make sure the new roomie pays me the deposit i paid? im a girl and they are guys. im more cleaner than them.
